Remote Working Challenge
Following the COVID-19 lockdown many companies faced the challenge of how to connect all their homeworking employees to office servers, securely drawing on centralised software licencing regimes that many software company’s employ. Integrated Design Management, a design house using CATIA V5 supplied by Desktop Engineering (DTE), faced this problem of continuing their operations.
15 delegates all connected from home
Just 3 days after launching our Live Online training portal, DTE has successfully delivered its first course to 15 delegates.
All delegates praised the format, commenting that it was easy to join, access the training collateral and interact with the trainer.
The course was specifically written by DTE for Vertical Aerospace to match their processes and was originally going to be delivered on-site. However, given the current COVID 19 lockdown, this new delivery format proved highly successful allowing all 15 delegates to join from their homes, with Neil Watford himself at home.
Software training with certified instructors
Desktop Engineering has launched a new service to support our customers in the current COVID-19 Lockdown period. Using the web portal GoToTraining we are now able to deliver live CATIA and 3DEXPERIENCE training direct to customers working remotely - at home or office.
MSC Software have just announced that they have relaxed licencing terms to assist customers having to use the software at home.
Effective immediately until 30th June users can access and use their licenced software from home using any necessary infrastructure (e.g. VPN) to facilitate this use.
There is no need for any authorisation for this temporary arrangement.
For those users who cannot access their company licence server from home there is an option to issue a temporary licence which is available on request.
